October 21, in the morning, I went to The Loft, a beautiful new space for the performing arts at UCSD, on the second floor of the Price Center East . Laurie Anderson was talking. It was a public round table with UCSD faculty from the Departments of Anthropology, Communication, Critical Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Theatre & Dance, and Visual Arts. The night before she performed "Homeland", which unfortunately I missed. The event was organized by Art Power! and I found it in Art as Authority's blog.

J'adore Laurie Anderson (et Lou Reed son mari) depuis toujours. C'est une vraie créatrice/chercheuse ! J'ai vu plusieurs spectacles d'elle (ah Mobby Dick !) et suis heureux d'apprendre que tu as pu la rencontrer. Bises, Ivan.
Elle etait petillante, drole et elle avait l'air si jeune! Dommage que j'ai rate "Homeland" la veille, mais au moins je l'ai entendu parler! Enfin, pas tres longtemps, parce que les gens de l'universite qui l'entouraient sur l'estrade lui ont lu chacun une lettre qu'ils avaient ecrite entre le spectacle de la veille et la rencontre du matin. D'ailleurs la rencontre s'appelait "Dear Laurie".
